Call for Event Committee
Want to help make the Toronto Queer Film Festival happen? Join our Event Committee!
The Toronto Queer Film Festival is a new initiative that will take place over three evenings from June 14-17 at Cinecycle in downtown Toronto. We’re looking to bring together individuals committed to a community-run, community-backed queer film festival that prioritizes art and activism over mainstream media productions and corporate sponsorships. If you’re interested in volunteering to help put together what we hope will be a fantastic series of film screenings, we’d love to hear from you!
The Event Committee will help to promote and coordinate logistics for film screenings and speakers. We are seeking people interested in helping with publicity, venue management (set up/take down, ticket taking, bar service), graphic design, website management, and everything else that goes into making a festival happen!
As a festival, we are committed to foregrounding work by and about communities typically underrepresented in mainstream film festivals. Applications are open to everyone interested in fostering a vision of what radical queer cinema means today. We especially encourage applications from Indigenous people, people of colour, women, persons with disabilities, queer, trans, non-binary, and two-spirit people.
If you are interested in joining the Event Committee, please apply here by May 12, 2016.
