Cat C. Haines is an autistic and transsexual dyke, as well as an activist, artist, and academic weirdo. She will lead an eco-processing workshop that serves as both a love poem to her community and a ritual. Part artist talk and part hands-on session, the workshop will guide participants through the process of eco-developing and processing a roll of black-and-white Super 8 film to negative.
As participants work—sometimes in total darkness—Cat will reflect on her journey and practice as a process and analog filmmaker. She will share examples of her work and explore what the medium can teach us about trans liberation. Newcomers to analog film are warmly welcome!
